KIKT PhD selection interviews + Start PhD program

The selection interviews for the PhD program "Experimental Biomedicine" were held from January 18-20, 2013. The selection committee consisted of Margarethe Geiger, Medical University of Vienna, Shemsedin Dreshaj, University of Prishtina and grant coordinator, Suzana Manxhuka Kerliu, Bajram Berisha, Hysen Bytyqi and Fetah Podvorica, all from the University of Prishtina.

At first the candidates had to write a motivation letter in English on spot to make sure that their English would be sufficient for the future studies. All 49 candidates that passed this task successfully were invited to an oral interview. In the end the 15 best scored candidates by the committee were selected for the attendance of the PhD.

On February 1, the Rector of the University of Prishtina, prof. asoc. dr. Ibrahim Gashi, and the Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Rame Buja, promoted the start of the PhD program and met the selected students (see photos).

The PhD program officially started on February 4, 2013 and in the course of the coming summer term and summer break all 15 PhD students are going on a three-month study visit to one of the three international partner universities, namely Medical University of Vienna, University of Gent and Napier University of Edinburgh.
